See positive outcomes from support tailored for your unique needs and goals using an integrated approach. The therapeutic models include Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Gottman Method Couples Therapy, and Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy.

Individual Counselling

Individual therapy offers a safe and supportive environment to address personal and relationship challenges that are affecting your happiness and fulfilment. Issues can be explored to increase clarity and understanding of your situations, emotions, and responses. You can be equipped and empowered to manage them in order to live purposefully and with fulfilment. The thereapy areas you can get help with are outlined in the Counselling Scope of Practice section on this page.

Relationship Counselling

Relationship counselling provides support for couples, coparents, colleagues, friends, and family members. Accessing relationship counselling may be for the purposes of repair, reconciliation, and rebuilding. Sometimes clients want to navigate separation or coparenting. Relationship counselling is a safe space to explore needs, expectations and priorities with a trained counsellor. Counselling is especially useful for addressing and resolving conflict, learning new communication and relationship skills, prevention of common issues, and strengthening relationships.

Global Counselling Services

I am able to provide therapy services worldwide, except to clients residing in the United States of America and Canada. This is due to insurance policy coverage limitations. All service fees on this website are quoted in Australian dollars.

Referrals, Medicare, Health Fund Rebates

Referrals

A GP referral is not required to access counselling. However, if there is information that you or your GP would like me to know, a letter or a referral can be provided. While counsellors are not required to report back to the referrer like psychologists are, if you would like a report, I can provide one with your consent and at a fee.

Medicare

Counsellors are currently not covered under the Medicare Benefits Scheme unlike registered psychologists. Therefore, these counselling sessions are not eligible for Medicare rebates.

Some considerations to keep in mind are that:

  1. Therapy sessions with counsellors are not recorded in your My Health Record.

  2. Most psychologist fees are higher than the Medicare rebate and the extra is similar to some counsellors' fees.

  3. There is no restriction on the number of counselling sessions you can access with a counsellor unlike under a Mental Health Care Plan.

Health Fund Rebates

I am registered as a provider with the following private health funds: HCF #C0001102, Medibank #A314731H, Bupa #J003397, AHM #21262473, Australian Regional Health Group (ARHG) #AC18615T (ARGH includes Police Health Fund, Emergency Services Health, Phoenix Health, St Lukes Health, GMHBA, see-u by HBF, Teachers Union Health, AIA and Westfund)

Depending on your individual plan coverage, you can claim rebates for your counselling sessions if you have private health insurance with these health funds. Contact your private health fund for details related to your level of cover.
