This privacy policy outlines my ongoing obligations to you regarding how I manage your personal information. Personal information and how it can be collected

  • Personal information is information that identifies an individual. Examples of personal information includes names, addresses, email addresses, and phone numbers.

  • This personal information is obtained in many ways including counselling or supervision appointments, correspondence, by phone, by email, via forms you fill out, payment preferences, via my website (www.minadaniels.com ; www.minadaniels.com.au), or from cookies. Website links or policies of authorised third parties are not guaranteed.

  • Personal information may be collected for the primary purpose of providing my services counselling and supervision services to you. Your personal information may be used for secondary purposes closely related to the primary purpose, in circumstances where you would reasonably expect such use or disclosure.

  • When personal information is collected, I will explain to you why and how it will be used where appropriate and where possible.

  • By providing us with personal information, you consent to the supply of that information subject to the terms of this Privacy Policy.

Sensitive information

  • Sensitive information is defined in the Privacy Act to include information or opinion about such things as an individual's racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, membership of a political association, religious or philosophical beliefs, memberships of professional body, criminal record or health information.

    • For a secondary purpose that is directly related to the primary purpose

However, most of the personal information is or will be stored in client files, which will be kept for 7 years.

  • You may request access the personal information held about you and request for updates and/or corrections subject to the provisions and exceptions set by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and other applicable laws.   • You will not be charged any fee for your access request, but an administrative fee may be changed for providing a copy of your personal information.

Maintaining the quality of your personal information

  • Reasonable steps will be made to ensure that your personal information is accurate, complete and up to date. If you find that the information held is not up to date or is inaccurate, please advise as soon as practicable.

Website and hosting

  • The personal information you submit or that is collected by the website via my website services (including Squarespace, Google Workspace, Google Analytics) is stored on secure databases operated by the hosting facilities for the website that reside in the United States of America and multiple geographically distributed content delivery networks (CDNs). Transfers to each of these countries are protected by appropriate safeguards maintained by the website service providers.

  • Cookies, which are small pieces of data that websites store on a device, help improve your browsing experience. You can at any time review which cookies are active in your browser’s settings and additionally clear cookies from your browser or device.
